Miss Whitney Leonard
Every student is special and unique in Miss Leonard's Leaders, which means every child will learn differently. I believe in getting to know each student's learning style on an individual basis to really understand how to best teach each student. Learning is a journey that given the right environment can be one of the most fulfilling and influential parts of life. Most of all, I believe the most effective learning will take place when teachers, students, and parents engage in a collaborative effort to create the best possible learning environment.
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area but have lived in Arizona for the past five years. I received my Bachelors degree in Communications from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles in 2011. While in college I was a member of the Women's Volleyball team. I went on to get my Masters in Early Childhood Education from Arizona State University in May of 2016. This is my first year teaching at Gilbert Elementary and I couldn't be more excited to be here!
