Student Leaders

Check out a video of our student clubs:

C.H.A.M.P.S.: This club is comprised of all 6th graders at Gilbert Elementary School. It instills leadership skills through several activities throughout the year. Students learn about taking ownership of their school. All 6th grade teachers sponsor this club.
Lunchtime Sports: Lunchtime Sports is a program offered to fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students. There is heavy emphasis placed on fun, sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play. When disputes between teams arise, captains from each time get together and work on a solution that is fair for both teams (play stops until this occurs). The goal is for all students to have fun in a competitive but non-threatening environment.
Sports that are played throughout the school year include the following: Tetherball Tournament, Football, Kickball, Basketball, Soccer, Two-Ball, and Volleyball.

Tiger T.V.: Tiger T.V. is the daily news broadcast.  Students lead a news broadcast everyday.  Students plan and deliver the news to students and staff on a daily basis at the beginning of our school day.
Tiger Town Beautification Club:  Students help maintain our beautiful garden areas on campus.  They also make projects for our school and home.
Nurse's Assistants:  Students support our school nurse with special projects.
Zumba Club:  Students have fun and Sharpen their Saw once per week learning Zumba dance routines.
Peer Mediators:  Students help solve conflicts on the playground.
Lost & Found Club:  Students collect and organize items that need to be placed in the Lost & Found shed.  Students are responsible for keeping it maintained and organized so others can easily find their missing item.
Student Lighthouse Team:  Students are selected to serve on this school improvement team.  They learn to collaborate with each other to make important decisions, then effectively communicate to the rest of the students.
Kindness Club:  Students in grades K-6 meet once per month to discuss ways to share kindness at school and in the community
Folklorico:  Students meet once per week and learn Ballet Folklorico type dance
Tour Guides:  Students are responsible for giving campus tours to visiting guests.

Yearbook Club:  Students in 4-6 grades meet to contribute to the Gilbert Elementary yearbook.  They are also responsible for taking pictures around campus.

Students are encouraged to bring new club ideas to Mr. Sremba
